Designing the look of promotional pens might seem easy, but a lot of consideration needs to go into your final design as there’s no way of telling how many people will end up seeing it. Sometimes, however, you might need to have alternate designs ready for specific events or to coincide with specific advertising or marketing campaigns. Creating multiple designs for your promotional pens takes time and money, so it’s important that you’re sure that you want to spend that time and money on more pens when you already have one design ready.
What’s the Purpose of the New Design?
First of all, stop and think about exactly why you need additional designs for your promotional pens. Is it simply to add some diversity to the pens that you already have in circulation, or are you going to use the new designs as part of an upcoming advertising campaign or during a specific promotional event? Having multiple designs in circulation at once isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but if the cost of several sets of promotional pens is more than you want to pay then you might want to consider whether you really need the new designs or not.
Are New Designs Replacing Old Ones?
Another thing that you should stop to consider is whether any of the new designs that you come up with for your promotional pens are going to be replacing the old design that’s currently in circulation. By creating several designs, you might be able to see which one is preferred so that you’ll know that you chose the right one to replace the current design. If you’re wanting to simply add diversity to what’s in circulation, then you might want to think about whether your promotional pens really need that diversity in order to be effective.
What Types of Pens Use the Designs?
Depending upon the industry that your business is in, you might create different designs for different types of promotional pens… perhaps you’d create one specific design for pens with black ink and another for pens with red ink, or have the common ballpoint pens which are circulated everywhere but also commission some rollerball pens that were given to specific clients. If you’re using different types of ink pens, then having different designs will help to differentiate among them and won’t cost you any more than it would cost to order the various types of promotional pens with the same design. Conversely, if all of the pens are going to be of the same type then you would likely be able to make a larger order with the same design for less than several smaller orders with different designs.
