If you are a high tech company, or you have a large base of technologically minded clients and employees, you might want to consider investing in promotional business gift gadgets. This type of promotion does tend to run on the expensive side, but if you have gadget geeks they will love you forever for usb gadgets galore, as opposed to boring pens and mugs.

There are several types of gadgets – the first are practical, simple, and useful. These are often the best type of gadget to use for business gifts, since they will most likely get a lot of mileage. The next type are the completely quirky gadgets that are more for second look value than anything else. These might not get used as much, but they will spur a lot more conversation (and thus, bring your brand into the conversation). The other are more specialized gadgets – ones that you really need to know the recipient to get, or else they'll just be tossed aside.

If you aren't a gadget addict yourself, you might be a little lost as to what type of gadget each is. However, you can use this handy little gadget cheat sheet to help plan your promotional business gift giving.

USB Flash Drives – These are becoming the new 'in' promotional gift for all businesses. They are simple and useful, great for giving to anyone.
USB Pen with MP3 Player – This is more of a quirky gadget, although someone without a MP3 player might appreciate it. Of course, you could just get promotional business gift mp3 players, as well.

USB Hubs – These are useful, especially with gadget guys that that lots and lots of usb items.

Custom USB Mice – This is more of a specialty item, since most of the people that you are targeting are going to have their own favorite mice.
USB Vacuum Cleaner – The other thing you will find with usb gadgets is that many of them have lots of strange little devices that would probably work better as their non usb version. However, that means it's not as nerdy, so it's not as good!

USB Cup Warmer – Now this is actually a pretty neat idea that would be a well received business gifts.

WiFi Finder – If you have lots of traveling employees, you might want to set them up with this handy little gadget for finding wireless Internet on the road.

Mini Beverage Dispenser – This isn't exactly the most techie of promotional gifts, but it's certainly one of the most interesting gadgets around. Just make sure to check that they aren't stowing alcohol inside.
