Trade shows and exhibitions are opportunities for you to meet other people who work in your industry—suppliers, customers, and the competition, too. Selecting promotional items for give-aways at these types of events can quickly become expensive, but it all pays off in the long run, with the opportunity to create and cement new business relationships.
The items you take to trade shows and exhibitions fall into two main categories—bait, and gifts. The “bait” items are those that you use to get people interested in you and visiting your booth. If you’ve got good bait items, you can offset the problems that an out of the way booth position can create, and good bait will draw in lots of traffic if you have a booth on the “walking path” of the exhibition area.
Bait items should be colorful items, preferably with moving parts, made from tactile materials such as rubber, or have the ability to be manipulated in some way. These types of gifts should, of course, be more stylish, more elegant, and more expensive than bait items. Gifts don’t need to be as eye-catching as bait—they do need to be attractive, of course, but they can be more understated than your average bait item.
There are lots of great options when it comes to gift printed keyrings, and they won’t break the bank, either. There are dozens of styles of metal keyrings available for ₤1.00-₤2.00, most of which can be laser engraved with your choice of message, for a really stylish look. Even better, the laser engraved message will last much longer than a printed one, and it won’t chip or flake the way print might.
If you have a little more to spend on gift items, a combination keyring light is a great option—items with multiple functions are always popular with gift recipients. There are some superb, high quality keyring lights available, including the Bullet Multi Color light, which features three different light colors in the same item, as well as a metal finish which can be engraved. Keyring lights can make good bait too, but are a little more expensive than the typical bait item. There are a few options available for less than ₤1.00, but most are in the ₤1.00-2.00 range.
