It is tough to beat metal promotional clocks in terms of price, durability, and quick manufacturing turnaround. The low cost of producing a metal clock can only be trumped by the lower cost of producing a plastic clock.  However plastic it is not always the best solution to every problem, so if you are looking for something that gives a slightly different design aesthetic but still want to maintain your bottom line then a metal promotional clock may definitely be in order.

A metal promotional clock differs from a normal metal clock in that it is unlikely that you will be using cast metal for your promotional clock rather you will be using either stamped or formed metal to produce the components of your metal promotional clock.  This is of course due to cost.  A cast metal clock, whether die cast or traditional, would use a huge amount of resources and manpower to get produced.  For this reason cast metal clocks are generally art pieces.  Fear not however, just because you are not casting your metal promotional clock does not mean you cannot achieve the same look. Using this method will definitely take a lot of design, however if you or your design partner are up to it you will be able to produce a truly interesting looking metal promotional clock that your clients will likely end up using rather than throwing away.

There are many different finishes that you can choose between when designing the final look of your metal promotional clock.  Many of these finishes have to do with the type of metal you choose.  Electro-plating is a very popular option for giving your metal promotional clocks a very stylish finish at a fraction of the cost of using real precious materials. Using electro-plating you'll be able to add gold, silver, chrome, and many custom finishes to your standard iron or steel clock frame.  Additionally if you use a metal such as copper or bronze for your metal promotional clock you'll be able to use certain chemicals to add an aged patina look.  It should be noted however that sometimes it is cheaper to actually produce a metal clock composed of steel or iron and then add an aged copper look with painted on effects rather than choosing copper, which is somewhat more expensive than other metals.
